BSides ICS Downunder was founded in 2026 by David Worthington and Bruce Large as a community ICS/OT cyber security conference by practitioners for practitioners.
About David Worthington
David Worthington is a highly experienced CISO with over 20 years in cyber security, including more than 15 years in executive leadership. He has a long history in Operational Technology (OT) and Industrial Control Systems (ICS), reducing risk while building security maturity across critical industries. David currently works in the Australian energy industry, where he has spent over a decade navigating fun challenges like Distributed Energy Resources and increasing regulation, and working closely with everyone from engineers and field techs to boards and execs.
About Bruce Large
Bruce has 20 years experience working with IT and Operational Technology in network, telecommunications and system engineering roles. Bruce has worked in Electricity Generation & Transmission, Railway, Aviation, Emergency Services and Consulting industries. Bruce considers himself a Security Architecture Enthusiast, Infrastructure Tourist and Cyber Threat Intelligence Nerd.
